This is Marilyn’s 40th year in education. She has experience in 3rd,4th and 5th grade as well as being a math specialist, Tx teacher trainer, family math, curriculum specialist, and 9 years in NISD as a vice principal. Through all her experience, being Principal of Infinity Christian Academy has truly been the best 9 years of it all! Marilyn and her husband Glenn celebrated 35 years of marriage this year. She loves spending time with her adult children and all her grandchildren. She enjoys watching movies, creating “handstamped” cards and traveling. She is also grateful for the love and passion God instilled in her early on to teach children. She has served as Children’s Director at her church, taught VBS many years, and taughtSunday School 30 yrs at Crossroads Baptist Church. She serves as the Board President of Infinity guiding the direction of this model of schooling. She is continually grateful that the Lord has helped build it to bless all the families who believe in its’ mission and vision.
Kelly possesses the energy, enthusiasm and animation necessary to teach kindergarten students. This is Kelly’s 8th year teaching kinder here at Infinity. She is continually keeping the students engaged in learning with academics as well as music, art, and center activities. She has worked as a community teacher for Northside Independent School District teaching faux finish, marble, and texturing painting. This same artistic talent has lent itself to her creating a line of art projects for children called “Kelly Kits”. Kelly has three daughters; Violet 4th and Rhapsody 7th who have been part of our program since kinder, and Ember who is 3, will join us next year.
Lori graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Elementary education, and started her career teaching 2nd and 3rd grade in Carrollton-Farmer’s Branch ISD. While on hiatus from the classroom, Lori was an avid volunteer at her daughter’s schools as room mom, PTO Vice President and President. She has been in BSF leadership for 5 years now, and is a small group leader for her church. Lori and her husband Kyle, settled in Boerne after moving around in the Midwest for 16 yrs. They have 2 daughters; Kari, a sophomore at Central Christian College in Kansas, and Maya a senior at Champion, who will be attending Colorado Christian next year.
Denise is one of our new teachers this year. She graduated from South Texas State with a BA. She has been a substitute teacher in Boerne ISD for the past 3 years,a member of the Council of PTAs Richardon ISD. She founded SAGE (Special and Gifted Education) committee and worked for them for 4 years. SAGE provides ways for others to understand the difficulties those with special needs encounter daily through a hands on program. Denise continues to fight for kids as a Court Appointed Special Advocate representing neglected and abused chidren with mental illness in conjunction with CPS. This enables her to utilize her skills and passion advocating for the educational needs and medical care for at risk kids.
Denise is very energetic and is a great fit for teaching 2nd grade students this year. The power of the mind at this age is awesome and she is looking forward to engaging her students and bringing out their talents. Her favorite expression is “how are we going to unloick the box and see all the teasures it holds.”
Sherry graduated from A & M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She’s taught in Conroe,Tx ; Cypress Fairbanks,Tx ;Harvest Academy, Methodist Preschool Teacher and the Learning RX. She has shared many cognitive brain activities/strategies to help struggling learners that she learned at the Learning RX. She is married to Eric and is a mom to Shelby and Brandon, who are attending A & M University. This school year is Sherry’s 10th year with our method of schooling. She has a total of 28 yrs teaching experience. Her outgoing personality and hard working ethic makes her a great teacher for our 3rd/4th graders.
Sammi joined our staff in 2016-2017 after subbing here for two years. Her passion for teaching and desire for instilling Christian values in our students made her a perfect fit for our school. She is energetic with her class and truly enjoys spending time with them. Sammi credits God for giving her the desire, energy and ability to homeschool her own children since Kindergarten. This will be their seventh year with ICA. She is passionate about her relationship with Christ, active in her church and community as a volunteer and has attended Bible Study Fellowship for 16 years. She loves spending time with Steve, her husband of 15 years, and her two children Josiah 7th, and Caroline 8th. They have been with our school for 5 years. Her hobbies include gardening, crocheting and reading juvenile fiction along with her class. Her greatest joy is her family and she thanks God for the privilege of being able to stay home and raise her two children. Sammi holds a Business degree from Lamar University.
Andrea graduated Cum Laude from Albertus Magnus College in CT. Andrea spent several years working at Council for Girl Scouts, where she oversaw programs for older girls in the State of Connecticut. She also coached cheerleading at youth, high school, and college level. She was also the Team Manager for boys wrestling. She is married with two children and has several cats. Andrea has a wide variety of interests, which include animals, cooking, travel, and reading. She brings high energy to her classroom and a love of teaching and learning.
Ashley graduated from Liberty University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical studies. She joined our Infinity team in 2015 after teaching sixth grade for three years at a private school. She loves her students and desires to see each of them reach their full academic potential while growing into the talents and gifting the Lord has bestowed upon them. Ashley is most excited about collaborating with the parents of her students and assisting them in the instruction and growth of their children. Ashley is married and has a 5 year old daughter. In addition to teach 7th and 8th math, science and history, this will also be her second year as our PE instructor.
ICA is so blessed Corinna agreed to help us with our various needs this year. She agreed to be flexible helping us as a high school math and science teacher, as well the fourth grade reading, math and science teacher.
Corinna Pitts has been a six year resident of Boerne, Texas. She has been married for 24 years and has a wonderful daughter going into 6th grade. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Science. She comes to us with over 40 classes in higher level science and math. She taught seventh grade science for two years in Montgomery, Texas and loved it. Her husband changed careers and they moved out of state so she decided to stay home and raise their daughter. She enjoys teaching and watching students’ minds at work. She has volunteered at her daughter’s school for the past five years and ran a small part time business from home.
Jo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. She also serves on the board of directors to help maintain the vision of mission of this ministry. This is her 10th year in this model of schooling as well. Each year we have graduated her to move up since she homeschools her son, Josiah, who will be a senior this year. She has a total of 33 years teaching experience and brings many talents and skills to Infinity. She also teaches the whole school to sign the worship songs we sing each morning. This kinesthetic approach helps them to retain the lyrics and hide God’s Word in their heart. Her “out of the box” thinking lends itself to always sharing a variety of solutions to any challenge/opportunity we face. She lives her faith out loud, bakes delicious desserts, and inspires her co-teaching parents.
