Marilyn Graham

Principal

This is Marilyn’s 45th year in education. She has experience in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade as well as being a math specialist, TX teacher trainer, family math, curriculum specialist, and 9 years in NISD as a vice principal. Through all her experience, being Principal of Infinity Christian Academy has truly been the best 12 years of it all! Marilyn and her husband Glenn celebrated 40 years of marriage this year. She loves spending time with her adult children and all her grandchildren. She enjoys watching movies, creating “handstamped” cards, and traveling. She is also grateful for the love and passion God instilled in her early on to teach children. She has served as Children’s Director at her church, taught VBS many years, and taught Sunday School 30 years at Crossroads Baptist Church. She also serves as the Board President of Infinity guiding the direction of this model of schooling. She is continually grateful that the Lord has helped build it to bless all the families who believe in its mission and vision.

Kelly Hanson

Kindergarten Teacher

Kelly possesses the energy, enthusiasm and animation necessary to teach Kindergarten students. This is Kelly’s 13th year teaching Kinder here at Infinity. She continually keeps the students engaged in learning with academics as well as music, art, and center activities.  She has worked as a community teacher for Northside Independent School District teaching decorative painting. This same artistic talent has lent itself to her creating a line of art projects for children called “Kelly Kits”. Kelly has three daughters, and her youngest will be in Third Grade here at Infinity this year.

Niki Harmon

1st Grade Teacher

This is Niki Harmon’s 2nd year teaching at Infinity Christian Academy. She comes to us after working for 20 years in the Early Childhood Education field. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Educational Studies and has served many families and children previously as a Center Director, Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher as well as District-wide Program Specialist. She is extremely excited about the opportunity to be serving as a 1st grade teacher this year at Infinity. Her hobbies include hiking, spending time with her family, pet sitting, volunteering at various animal rescues and serving at her church.

Donna Fellers

2nd Grade Teacher

Donna is excited to move up with her first graders this year and teach 2nd grade skills. She has served in her church for the past 40 years. She has taught VBS, was the Youth Director for 7 yrs & Children’s Director for another seven years. Donna also was the Associational VBS Director for 4 years. She has taught Kinder Sunday School and taught in the 6th grade youth department for another 5 years. For a 10 year period, she was the Young at Heart director for Senior adults. We are so thankful that she decided to join our team. This woman has a heart for serving our Lord.

Shellie Zamora

2nd Grade Teacher

This is Shellie’s 2nd year teaching at Infinity Christian Academy. She has a great love for children and a passion for teaching. Shellie will also be teaching PE to our Infinity students this year! She has 20 years of experience teaching in various public schools and has also been a private homeschool teacher for two families. She graduated in 1998 from Southwest Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Physical Education. She is married with two children, both of whom will attend ICA this year in 7th and 5th grades When she’s not teaching and on many weekends, she enjoys watching her youngest son play tournament baseball. Her oldest son enjoys participating in a local drama class and working to perfect his acting skills. She is excited to be part of the Infinity family and we are blessed to have her teach our second graders this year.

Sherry Viereck

3rd Grade Teacher

Sherry graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She’s taught preschool through 4th grade in the Houston and San Antonio areas. She’s married to Erik and has two children, both A&M graduates. This is Sherry’s 15th year with our method of schooling and she has a total of 33 years of teaching experience. Her outgoing personality and tremendous work ethic make her a great teacher. When she’s not with her 3rd graders, she’s either teaching Driver Ed or hanging out with her three dogs and three cats.

Nanci Portela

4th Grade Teacher

This is Nanci’s 8th year with Infinity Christian Academy. Her daughter was a student from 3rd through 7th grade. Nanci has volunteered every year as Room Mom and has been our primary substitute teacher for the last few years. She was also one of our administrative assistants so she is familiar with the staff, our school model, and most of our students.

Nanci has been married to her husband for 29 years and they have a 10th grader who is in Club Volleyball. They attend Oak Hills Church where she volunteers in the Production department on the weekends and they are active in small groups with an emphasis on marriage ministry. They love to travel and spend family time together.

Nanci is excited to be teaching 4th grade again this year and is looking forward to meeting her new students and families.

Shelby Givens

5th Grade Teacher

Shelby is so excited to return to the fifth grade classroom for her second year teaching at Infinity Christian Academy. After being in a parent volunteer role for several years here at ICA, the decision to move to our teaching staff was an easy one. Between her time here at school and running a residential real estate team, Shelby makes sure to travel often with her husband and son and get lots of walks in with her very active dog.

Shelby credits our hybrid model for one of the reasons she truly is able to do it all. In addition to the busy roles of wife, mom, teacher, and realtor, she is also part-owner in a home building and design company and is able to serve in a leadership position in children’s ministry at her local church.

Watching children grow and learn in their faith has always been a passion of Shelby’s, and she is grateful for the opportunity to get to know each of our students and their families in the upcoming year.

Angelica Hensley

6th Grade Teacher

This is Angelica’s first year teaching at Infinity Christian Academy but she’s no stranger in the building. She subbed for most grades last year and spent time as room mom the last two years for her daughter’s class. She absolutely loves the students, faculty, and Christian hybrid model. Having previously served as a teacher’s assistant for 3 years at Oak Hills Church, she is very excited to be given the responsibility to show Christ’s love as a role model and be a special part of students’ lives for years to come.
Angelica has been married to her husband Tyler for 9 years and they have one daughter Hannah who will be in the 2nd grade.
She enjoys her daily morning quiet time in God’s word, coffee, cooking, plants, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Jo Fredrickson

Junior/High School Teacher, Academic Dean

Jo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. She also serves on the Infinity Christian Academy Board of Directors to help maintain the vision of mission for this ministry. She continues to be blessed to walk with other parents through this model of schooling. This is her 15th year. She has a total of 41 years teaching experience and brings many talents and skills to Infinity. Because she is fluent in American Sigh Language we can offer that as our foreign language for high school. Her “out of the box” thinking lends itself to always sharing a variety of solutions to any challenge/opportunity we face. She lives her faith out loud, bakes delicious desserts, and inspires her co-teaching parents.

Vicki Perkins

Junior/High School Teacher

This is Vicki’s 4th year at Infinity Christian Academy but 1st year to teach. Her daughter has been enrolled since 5th grade and she will start 8th grade this year. Vicki comes to the school excited to teach History to 7th – 12th graders and 8th grade Literature. Vicki has been married to her husband for 28 years and they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

The hobbies that bring her the most joy are being around her family, reading, attending church services and socializing with friends.

Diana Faunce

Junior/High School Teacher

Diana graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree from Texas A&M University’s College of Education with a focus in math and science. Diana previously taught in NISD middle schools before becoming a mother to three children. She has homeschooled her children for the last 4 years and is excited for all three children to attend ICA this year. Diana has a passion to teach youth and has been actively serving in her church’s student ministry program for the past 10 years. She has been married for 17 years and enjoys the outdoors, family, and interior design. Diana will teach Math to all our 7th-12th grade students this year. We are thankful she accepted this calling from the Lord.

Liane Faneca

Junior/High School Teacher

Liane Faneca is excited to join the Infinity staff this year to teach English and Literature to our high schoolers. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education at USM in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and completed her minor in English at the University of New Orleans. She has 35 years of teaching experience: 27 of them teaching high school English and Literature in both public and Christian schools. She has lived most of her life in and around Houston and New Orleans but moved to San Antonio two years ago to be near family and help with her youngest grandchild.
Liane is looking forward to our new school year and working with our Infinity high school students.

Leyla Lopez

Junior/High School Teacher

This is Leyla’s first year at Infinity Christian Academy. She was born and raised here in San Antonio and went to college at UT Austin where she received her degree in Education and Applied Learning & Development. She taught English Language Arts & Reading for 4 years with SAISD before coming to ICA. She loves working with middle school kids!

Leyla attends Alamo Community Church Downtown with her husband where she serves on the worship team. She and her husband love to cook and host friends and family in their home together.
